The pros of mainstream television is that its free, it can be seen in high definition, everyone that has television has it, you will get a lot of viewers as these are the main channels that get viewed on television. Also it is good for the artist as it will allow them to gain money through advertisements. Some people may see it as a bad thing because they only show the clean versions of the songs but some people may not like swearing but like the song so they see this as a good thing. A con of mainstream television is that they may not play all of the song and may cut it off early. Another con about mainstream television is that they do not show a lot of music videos as there are a lot more music channels on television now and there is also the internet and streaming so people do not have to wait around all day to see a music video they can see them when they want.One of the programs that used to be on mainstream television was T4.

Music Channels are good as they are purely for music, they are regularly playing brand new music videos so if you want a new music video then it will probably be one one of them. There are a lot of music channels to suit what kind of music you like. Its good for artists as they still get paid royalties. the bad things about music channels are that some of them you have to pay for. They also may not be playing the song you want. The music channels are getting out dated by streaming websites as they allow people to search for any music video they want to watch whenever they want, wherever they want. CD/special edition CD/DVD releases are good because you will be able to watch the video whenever you want. It is a good thing for the artist as special releases of CD's will cost more this means they will get more money from it, this is also bad for the customer as this will cost them more and they might get bored of the song. Streaming websites are good as some are free to view. You can search whatever video you want to see at that point. artists still get paid from some websites. It will get a lot of views as most people have connection to the internet in some way. the bad things about streaming websites is that, the videos can be played in bad quality. Bad internet connection will cause the video to buffer and lag. Another bad thing is that some of the websites may make you pay a monthly subscription. one of these streaming websites are Youtube.

Artist websites are good as they although you to only listen to a artist you like. They will have brand new releases and release dates. They also allow artists to earn money through albums and other merchandise like t-shirts.
